Recently I received a comment on my reel asking why I mostly wear super short skirts and shorts. My first instinctive thought was, “Because I can,” although of course I didn’t reply that way. Still, this reaction made me think about how often women are questioned about their clothing choices, as if we owe someone an explanation.

The truth is very simple: I live most of the year in summer weather, and I genuinely like showing my legs. It feels natural and comfortable for me. Warm temperatures make lightweight clothing the most logical option, and I choose pieces that I enjoy, that flatter my body, and that make me feel confident. For me, short skirts and shorts are exactly that.

But what interests me most is why such a question even appears. Clothes should be an expression of personal taste and lifestyle, not a subject for debate. If someone prefers long dresses, that is their right. If another woman feels her best in wide trousers, that is perfect too. Style is deeply personal, and we all have different ways of expressing ourselves.

I believe that confidence starts with feeling comfortable in your own skin. When I wear something short, it is not about seeking attention or making a statement. It is simply about choosing what feels good on my body. I work hard to stay active and take care of myself, so appreciating the results by dressing the way I like feels natural and honest.

There is also something liberating in allowing yourself to wear what you truly want, without trying to meet anyone else’s expectations. I used to overthink people’s opinions, but with time I realized how much unnecessary pressure it creates. Now I choose what makes me feel aligned with myself, whether it is a short skirt, a long dress, or something in between.

At the end of the day, clothing is just clothing. What matters is how you feel in it. If something gives you confidence, comfort, and a sense of freedom, then it is the right choice for you. And I will always encourage women to dress not for approval, but for themselves.

So why do I wear short skirts and shorts? The answer is still the same: because I want to, because I feel good in them, and because I enjoy living in a body and a climate that allow me to do so.
