Healthy habits: Part two
Remember, I promised the second part of my healthy tips, and here it is. I recommend saving this post so you can always come back to it when you need a little reminder or motivation. These habits may seem simple at first glance, but when practiced regularly, they genuinely help you feel more balanced, more energized and more connected to your well-being.
11. Try to eat more slowly if your goal is to reduce your daily intake. Multiple studies have shown that slower eating naturally leads to consuming fewer calories because the brain has enough time to process signals of fullness.
12. Add avocado to your meals. It is rich in valuable nutrients, supports the feeling of satiety for a longer time and provides the body with healthy fats that are essential for overall wellness.
13. When choosing alcohol, opt for dry wine instead of cocktails. Most cocktails contain a significant amount of added sugar, which can easily increase your daily calorie intake without you even noticing.
14. Drink plain black coffee rather than flavored versions with syrups and additives. Black coffee contains almost no calories, and it allows you to enjoy the taste without unnecessary elements.
15. Use smaller plates. Our brain evaluates the amount of food visually, so the same portion looks more satisfying on a smaller plate. This simple trick helps prevent overeating.
16. Try not to shop for groceries when you are hungry. Hunger increases impulsiveness and often leads to buying products you don’t actually need or wouldn’t normally choose.
17. Give your eyes a break from screens at least one hour before going to bed. This small habit significantly improves the quality of your sleep and helps your mind relax.
18. Set a consistent bedtime. Going to bed at the same time every day supports a healthier sleep cycle and improves overall rest.
19. Choose calmer alarm sounds. Even if you think you need loud tones to wake up, try teaching your body to start the day in a more peaceful way rather than with stress.
20. Meditate for at least five to ten minutes a day. This short moment of stillness helps restore emotional balance, increases clarity and brings a sense of confidence into your daily routine.
And finally, take care of yourself with the same attention you would give to someone you love. Replace criticism with appreciation. Be proud of your efforts, and acknowledge everything you do to feel better and to grow.
