Rainy memories
This picture was taken three years ago, and every time I look at it, I get that strange mix of feelings when everything seems unchanged, yet at the same time you understand how much life has shifted since that moment. It is almost surreal how a single image can freeze a version of you, a moment that looks simple from the outside but carries an entire world of emotions inside it. When I look at this photo now, I feel as if time never touched us, yet our lives became fuller, deeper and richer in ways I could have never imagined back then.
I remember the day so clearly. It was one of those rainy afternoons when the weather can’t decide what it wants to do. The sky darkened too fast, the air felt heavy, and suddenly the rain started pouring almost without warning. We were running from it like two kids, holding hands and laughing, trying to escape the sudden storm. There was something so innocent and pure about that moment. We were not thinking about tomorrow, or responsibilities, or the next step in life. We were simply present, enjoying the spontaneity that days like that bring.
Now, three years later, we found ourselves running from the rain again, but this time everything felt different in the best possible way. We were no longer just the two of us. There were three of us now. A small hand, warm and trusting, holding onto ours. A reminder of how life evolves quietly, step by step, without us even noticing until one day we look back and realize how far we have come.
What I love the most is that the feeling stayed the same. The same laughter, the same rush, the same joy of sharing something so small and simple. But now it is layered with new meaning, new memories, new roles we learned to take on. Becoming parents changes how you experience even the simplest moments. Suddenly you see everything through a softer, deeper lens. You appreciate the calm, the chaos, the routine and the surprises in a completely new way.
Looking at this picture reminds me that time passes, but the essence of who we are remains. Life keeps adding new chapters, but the foundation stays untouched. And I am grateful that even as things change, some moments stay timeless.
