Art that shapes us
Have you ever paused in front of a piece of art and wondered why it touches you so deeply, even before you fully understand what you’re looking at? I genuinely believe that art has this quiet, powerful way of slipping into our inner world. It opens little doors inside us, creating space for emotions we often don’t notice in everyday life. Sometimes it softens us, sometimes it unsettles us, and sometimes it simply reminds us that we’re capable of feeling something more nuanced than the usual rhythm of our routine.
For me, art isn’t only about paintings hanging in galleries. It’s also about music that changes the atmosphere of a room within seconds, about films that stay with you long after the credits end, about theatre that lets you experience someone else’s life for a moment. Art is a way of reflecting the world, but also a way of reflecting ourselves. Through it, we see what we’re drawn to, what we reject, what we dream about, and sometimes what we fear.
That’s why I love attending events like Art Basel, Scope or Pulse. These exhibitions feel like windows into the collective emotional landscape of the moment. You walk between installations and canvases and suddenly understand how society feels right now — what it celebrates, what it questions, what it struggles with. And at the same time, you feel something very personal. You may unexpectedly fall in love with a piece, feel a magnetic pull toward a certain color or shape, or catch yourself imagining how a particular work would look in your own space at home.
There’s something incredibly intimate in this process: the way you connect with an artist you’ve never met, or with a story expressed through something as simple as a brushstroke. It’s almost like a conversation without words. And the beauty is that each of us experiences it differently. That’s the magic — art doesn’t demand the same reaction from everyone. It simply offers you a moment, and you decide how deeply to feel it.
Do you enjoy wandering through exhibitions or museums and letting yourself get lost in this emotional atmosphere?
